Despite a thriving 20-year career in the tech world, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something essential was missing. As I climbed the corporate ladder in Silicon Valley, my heart longed for a creative outlet - one I had dreamed of as a teenager growing up in Delhi. It was a desire rooted not just in passion, but in a deep yearning to reconnect with my roots in India that I had left behind 25 years ago when I moved to the US.

During a career sabbatical, I took time to reflect and seek my life’s higher purpose. That’s when jewelry called to me - not merely as an art form I had loved, collected, and inherited over the years, but as something far more profound. It felt like a whisper from my ancestors - jewelers on both sides of my family - whose timeless creations I wore on my wedding day; as a new mother and continue to wear daily. Pieces that, even after decades, continue to feel relevant; hold up extremely well and connect me to a life far beyond my own.

Inspired by this connection and the lack of good quality jewelry that truly blended heritage with modern life, I knew it was time. I made the decision to step away from the corporate world and bring my vision to life - thus, Aakshi - the brand was born.

Aakshi was born from a moment of quiet reflection - a woman sitting with her jewelry box, running her fingers over treasures that had witnessed weddings, births, festivals, and every small joy in between. Each piece carried a story, a whisper of the past that connected her to generations before her.

Yet, as she set out to create her own heirlooms, she found a gap: fine jewelry felt too precious, while mass-produced pieces faded too quickly. Where was the jewelry that carried meaning yet fit everyday life? That question sparked Aakshi - a brand rooted in the belief that jewelry can be both timeless and accessible, bridging heritage and modernity.

At Aakshi, we draw from India’s rich visual language - its motifs, icons, and timeless symbols - and reimagine them for today’s woman. Each piece begins with a story of strength, love, or artistry, crafted with care and quality to be worn every day, cherished deeply, and passed down.
